Shaping the future with intelligent solutions

Pittsburgh, January 3, 2019 — In the fast-paced world of electronics, IT and communications technologies, it’s all about the race for what’s next. At CES 2019 — the global stage for the latest consumer product technologies — Covestro will demonstrate how, as a materials innovation partner, it helps bring next-gen technologies to market. Covestro is believed to be the only materials supplier exhibiting at CES 2019.

“Successfully taking a product from concept to commercialization requires being able to balance multiple factors,” explains Joel Matsco, senior marketing manager, Polycarbonates – Electronics and Appliance, Covestro LLC. “We collaborate early on with our customers, helping them to overcome their product design, engineering and materials challenges. This approach accelerates innovation, which is particularly critical given the rapid electronics product life cycle.”

Visitors to the booth (Sands, Hall G – 52934) will get a firsthand look at how Covestro is shaping the future with intelligent solutions:

  • Covestro is hosting wearable technology company Embr Labs and gaming accessories company MIIIW, two emerging firms that reflect the convergence of materials and technologies.
  • The company is highlighting applications utilizing its polycarbonates and polycarbonate blends tailored to electronics, IT and communications applications. These materials offer a balanced combination of properties including high flowability, stiffness, toughness, heat resistance, flame retardance and good aesthetics.
  • On display will be applications using the company’s next-gen Maezio™ Continuous Fiber-Reinforced Thermoplastic Composite, which provides a new aesthetic direction in addition to advanced properties such as high strength, tunable stiffness and extremely lightweight.

Attendees at CES 2019 Conference and Exposition, January 8-11, in Las Vegas, can visit the Covestro exhibit in the Eureka Park Marketplace to learn more about the company’s materials and technical expertise for consumer technologies.
