Leverkusen: An innovation powerhouse
In Leverkusen, over 800 employees work tirelessly on tomorrow's innovations in numerous laboratories with special machines. Spanning an area of 24,500 square meters – equivalent to about 3.5 soccer fields – they conduct an impressive 30,000 physical tests on material samples annually, among other activities. This is where high-quality, innovative, and forward-looking solutions for the future are born.
Reimagining sustainability
Innovative technologies and processes developed in Leverkusen are setting new benchmarks for sustainability. The laboratories have already developed numerous products whose optimized properties enable applications with lower weight and longer shelf life. New materials — for example, for robust car headlights or high-performance insulating foams for refrigerators — all contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and material consumption.
