Together with the companies Engel Austria and Dr. Schneider, Covestro developed a space-saving, modular table concept for car interiors. The thermoplastic composite material Maezio® is used here, which is extremely robust and lightweight, but also enables new aesthetics.

In the car interior of the future, the focus will be on the design of surfaces using colors, optics and haptics, with light effects and functions.

Together with the Research and Development Center of the Chinese car manufacturer GAC, Covestro is developing a new lightweight construction concept for seat backrests for its ENO.146 concept car, with the aim of reducing the weight of the car while raising the bar for sustainability.
