Covestro donates RMB 1.4m in supplies to Shanghai for epidemic prevention and control

Delivering corporate social responsibility

German materials manufacturer Covestro announced today it has donated 70,000 Covid-19 antigen rapid test kits to Shanghai for pandemic prevention and control amid the latest spike in Covid-19 cases across the city. The kits, with a combined market value of RMB 1.4 million, were donated through the Shanghai Charity Foundation. The first batch of supplies have already been delivered to the medical center of the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP).

Since this round of the pandemic broke out in Shanghai, the SCIP has made every effort to maintain the safety and stability of the entire park by strictly adopting anti-pandemic measures in order to help companies ensure normal and continuous production. The park is home to Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai, the company’s largest production site worldwide.

Covestro China President Holly Lei said, “On behalf of Covestro, I would like to pay the highest tribute to people from all walks of life who are at the frontlines in the fight against the pandemic. Covestro is committed to fulfilling social responsibility and we want to contribute our modest efforts with this donation. We hope production and life will get back to the right track as soon as possible.”
