Corporate compliance means acting with integrity and observing the legal and ethical framework at all times.
Our Code of Conduct, forms the framework for acting in accordance with the rules, based on expertise, fairness and reliability.
In this Code of Conduct, Covestro has established fundamental principles and divided them into three main themes:
The Code of Conduct applies within the company, to external partners, and to the public.
Covestro will – without exception – forgo any business that would only be possible by violating the law or company rules.
Group-wide compliance organization at Covestro
At the top of the group-wide Compliance organization is the Chief Compliance Officer, who reports directly to the Board of Management and leads all Compliance activities.
A central Compliance department coordinates Compliance activities throughout the Covestro Group.
The Compliance Committee chaired by the CFO of Covestro AG meets several times a year and acts as the highest decision-making body for all compliance matters. The Compliance Committee assumes central governance functions and is responsible for the compliance strategy.
A local Compliance Officer has been appointed for each country in which Covestro has employees. This person serves as a local point of contact for employees on all questions regarding legal and ethical conduct in business situations. The country organizations also have local compliance committees.
