Our comprehensive RE portfolio – including Makrolon® RE, Makroblend® RE, Bayblend® RE, and Apec® RE – offers customers seamless drop-in solutions that require minimal costly implementation effort while delivering measurable environmental benefits.
The Makrolon® RE series of Covestro has revolutionized the high-performance plastics market, delivering up to 80% carbon footprint reduction while maintaining identical performance to conventional materials. These ISCC PLUS-certified polycarbonates, featuring up to 89% bio-circular attributed content, are already transforming applications across automotive, electronics, and construction industries.
Selected Makrolon® RE grades achieve up to 100% product carbon footprint reduction through renewable electricity integration at European production sites, with plans to expand this achievement globally. This breakthrough demonstrates our commitment to delivering not just sustainable materials, but truly transformative solutions that redefine industry possibilities.
The innovative Makrolon® RP series further expands possibilities with up to 89% chemically recycled post-consumer attributed content, proving that circular materials can exceed virgin material performance standards.
The polyurethane-based solutions of Covestro continue to set industry benchmarks for sustainability and performance. Our Bayhydur® and Desmodur® product lines are the preferred choice for manufacturers seeking low-emission, waterborne, and high-solids formulations that reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions while delivering excellent durability and performance.
Desmodur® CQ represents one of the first offerings of Covestro in the polyisocyanates segment to achieve 100% product carbon footprint reduction from mass-balance approach for applications such as flexible packaging and industrial coatings. It is manufactured using partially alternative raw materials, including feedstocks from waste, biomass, and renewable energy sources. The product delivers this 100% carbon footprint reduction through a cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment based on ISO 14040/14044 standards, providing customers with a verified method to reduce their carbon footprint and Scope 3 emissions.
