Covestro, together with partners, will donate nearly RMB 1.4 million worth of relief supplies to the Chinese province of Henan, which is hit by heavy flooding.
Covestro announced today that together with partners, it will donate nearly RMB 1.4 million worth of urgently needed supplies for emergency rescue and disaster relief in various parts of China’s Henan province affected by severe floods.

After the flooding hit, Covestro took the initiative to learn about the situation in the disaster-stricken areas and their needs for relief supplies, while contacting customers and logistics partners to facilitate the shipments of these supplies to receivers directly. The donated supplies included rechargeable emergency lighting, headlights, LED flashlights, power banks, goggles, mattresses and memory foam pillows, and bottled water, and went to the charity, medical and health departments in Zhengzhou, Xinxiang, and Huaxian. Goods are arriving starting today.

Holly Lei, President of Covestro China, said, “After this disaster, we have been deeply touched by the spirit of solidarity demonstrated by all parties. Thanks to all our partners, we are able to act quickly and send supplies to the places with the most urgent needs. Covestro hopes to use its material expertise to contribute to disaster rescue as well as post-disaster reconstruction.”
