Pittsburgh, June 5, 2019 — Rebecca Lucore, head of sustainability and corporate social responsibility at Covestro LLC and a leading voice in Corporate America for leveraging employee purpose to drive the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), reports on Pittsburgh’s ongoing journey to become an inclusive, sustainable city for all in a new piece published on Medium.

The blog also offers other companies a blueprint for how to implement the UN SDGs in their local communities.

Globally, Covestro signed on to the UN SDGs when they were first introduced in the fall of 2015. Around the same time, the City of Pittsburgh developed its resilience plan, OnePGH, around the UN SDGs. To support the city’s efforts and help introduce the UN SDGs to a wider audience, Covestro launched its THINC30 summits to “take the global goals local’ by introducing them to businesses, organizations and individuals throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

With THINC30, Covestro has focused its efforts on Goal #17 – Partnership for the Goals. The summits are designed to create new collaborations among non-traditional partners from the public and private sectors to address critical local issues outlined by the UN SDGs, such as poverty, food insecurity and social justice.
