Pittsburgh, December 9, 2020 — Held amidst the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, economic uncertainty, racial justice reckoning and the ever-increasing impacts of the climate crisis, Covestro’s THINC30 summit illustrated that when it comes to sustainability, the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and their interconnectedness are spot on. In her latest Medium blog, Rebecca Lucore, Covestro LLC’s head of CSR and Sustainability, reflects on sustainability as a thread that ties physical health with economic health with environmental health and the health of our social institutions.

Covestro’s THINC30 2020: The UN SDGs in the New Now: Relevance and Recovery took place over three morning sessions on October 15th, 20th and 22nd. During that time, nearly 45 speakers, from national to local, shared concrete ways for the Pittsburgh region – and, indeed, any region -- to achieve social, environmental and economic equity. In her piece, Lucore recaps some of the key takeaways from each day, invites people to watch each day’s summit and inspires them to be changemakers in their communities.
