Kirsten helped make eyeglasses

Kirsten Lawson, a 26+ year employee from Newark, Ohio, works with polycarbonate materials that are used in eyeglass lenses and frames.

Covestro’s polycarbonate comes to life in eyeglasses, forming both lenses and plastic frames that are durable, scratch-resistant and safe to wear.

Every pair reflects the quality she and her team build into their work: long-lasting, reliable, and comfortable for everyday use. And with recycled (RE) grade options, the polycarbonate she works with also helps make eyewear more sustainable—so people and the planet both benefit.

Meet the Maker: Kirsten Lawson, Newark, OH | 26 years at Covestro

With over 26 years at Covestro, Kirsten says her proudest moments come from meaningful experiences that extend beyond the plant floor. On the First Day Celebration of Covestro in 2015, Kirsten was the Plant Manager of the Compounding Plant in Guangzhou, China. She was courageous enough that day to get onstage and sing Long Ban in Cantonese. She looks back on her four years in China fondly, citing so many memories and friends made during her time there.
