The Office of International Affairs of National Taiwan University (NTU) is launching its very first mentorship-style internship program tailor-made for international students at NTU, with the aim facilitating the linkage between Taiwan and the global talent market, as well as inspiring the leaders of tomorrow. The program invites the senior management of government agencies, foreign organizations, corporations, start-ups, chambers, research institutions, and non-profit organizations to serve as mentors for its international students. Covestro Taiwan is one of the 20 foreign enterprises invited to the program.

The program provides an opportunity for the students to put their theoretical learnings into practice, while inspiring the students with new perspectives on life and careers. NTU is a world-leading university, ranked number one and the largest and most comprehensive university in Taiwan. Its rich research capacity attracts around 3,000 foreign students from 70 countries to study at NTU each year. The launch and signing ceremony of the NTU International Mentorship Program was held at NTU yesterday (Mar. 23rd) and attended by the President of NTU, Dr. Chung-ming Kuan, as well as leaders from industries and government agencies.

“Covestro is honored to be invited to participate in this very first NTU International Mentorship Program. Talent is the most valuable asset of a company, by participating in this program, we hope we can help international talent learn that Taiwan is a place full of innovation and power, as well as showing the students how to contribute to the SDGs via Corporate Social Responsibility Programs,” said Michael Lee, Managing Director of Covestro Taiwan. For this program, Covestro Taiwan is offering internships at its Energy Curing Innovation Center, one of the company’s top eight Innovation Hubs around the globe, and at its CSR award-winning department, Corporate Communications. Six international student representatives were present at the NTU press conference yesterday. One of which, Miss Syeda Zehra, a Chemical PhD student from Pakistan and participant of Academia Sinica’s International Graduate Program, chose Covestro’s Energy Curing Innovation Center internship as her first choice for the NTU International Mentorship Program.
