The drug delivery concept incorporates Direct Skinning/Direct Coating technology, providing exceptional tactile qualities for patients and streamlined, efficient manufacturing possibilities. By encapsulating the body of the device, Direct Coating creates a hermetic and tamper-resistant seal. Both high gloss and matte finishes are present on the outer surface, with varying haptics based on the polyurethane chemistry used. Compared to traditional spray coating, Direct Coating offers increased design flexibility and streamlines manufacturing, while avoiding paint overspray and the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Our Makrolon® polycarbonate pushes drug delivery innovation forward with its glass-like transparency, impact resistance and durability. For this reason, this material is used to injection mold the exterior of the drug delivery concept. Makrolon® polycarbonate is clear, allowing for maximized design freedom and the incorporation of a digital monitor for connectivity, indicators and light guides. Featuring thin walls, the concept is small and light enough for patients to take on-the-go, easily fitting in a backpack, purse or pocket.
