Welcome to another issue of the Covestro eAutomotive Update!
Before I go further, let me introduce myself: I’m Philipp Polenz and in September 2018 I was named Senior Vice President, Polycarbonates Mobility. I’m responsible for this segment globally – a new position for me and for Covestro, as well. You may be wondering … why the change and what does it mean to me?
We listened to our customers, many of whom have operations in numerous world markets, and adapted our structure to better serve their needs. I’m personally and professionally excited to be leading this new global organization. I’m confident our new global structure will simplify how we work together and help us to bring even greater value as a materials supplier and collaborator that can help optimize component design, engineering and production.
We also listened to our eAutomotive Update readers. Last year we surveyed readers to find out what information was most valuable. Based on your feedback, we’ve optimized the newsletter content to better suit your interests. We hope you enjoy this issue and welcome any comments you may have as we continue to fine-tune content for you.
For many of us, January is a time for looking back at what we accomplished during the previous year and looking ahead with anticipation for what’s to come. With that in mind, in this issue I invite you to review some of our 2018 activities, including ChinaPlas, Fakuma, RoadTrip 2030 and more. Next, join Covestro as we gear up for a very busy 2019, with appearances at CES 2019, the North American International Auto Show and K 2019 among others. Finally, I hope you’ll spend a few minutes learning more about new materials tailored to your interior and exterior automotive applications.
I hope you enjoy this issue of the eAutomotive Update. And finally, I’d like to thank you for your readership and to wish you a very happy and productive new year!
Here’s to the road ahead,
